Automation Engineer

About the Role

Stellar Systems is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our growing team in Surat. You will be responsible for designing, programming and commissioning PLC/SCADA systems across a range of industrial sectors including oil & gas, cement, water treatment and food & beverage. You'll work closely with clients from concept through to handover, delivering precision automation that drives real operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop PLC programs on Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and Schneider Modicon platforms
Configure and commission SCADA/HMI systems (WinCC, FactoryTalk, Ignition)
Prepare engineering documentation including functional design specs, I/O lists and test procedures
Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
Troubleshoot and resolve control system faults on-site and remotely
Liaise with clients, project managers and electrical engineers throughout project lifecycle
Support panel wiring verification and loop checking during commissioning

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or related engineering discipline
2–5 years of hands-on PLC programming experience in an industrial environment
Proficiency in at least one major PLC platform (Siemens, Rockwell or Schneider)
Experience with SCADA/HMI configuration and commissioning
Solid understanding of instrumentation, P&IDs and control system design
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on-site
Willingness to travel to client sites within India as required
Good written and verbal communication in English
